Grouping Normalized Tables Into Subject Areas
Brief Description
The basic orientation of the data found in the EDW is toward subject areas. The subject areas of a corporation typically include such entities as:
- product
- customer
- transaction
- vendor, and so forth
The subject areas have relationships among themselves. Different physical tables combine together to form the data for a subject. The tables are typically normalized.
